Me and the NFL

First, because I live in NY and LOVE the Yankees (so should you) does not mean I like the NY NFL teams. I am a Washington Redskins fan to the bone. Always have, always will.

This past weekend I was invited to go with Zach to see the Washington Redskins play against the New York Jets at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. We left his place in Saratoga Springs, NY early Sunday morning around 8am. Arrived 2-1/2 hours later and proceeded to exit the car with caution. Everyone was wearing their Jets uniform and of course the tailgate parties were in full swing. After briefly checking out the status of people we decided to go back to the car and put on our Redskin clothing. It was cool, and in fact we got a few positive nods from other Redskin fans throughout the complex. Overheard some Jets guy say, “Man, there sure are a lot of Redskin fans here…” And rightly so. We were there to watch the Jets receive a beat down.

Coin was tossed and the Redskins won the toss, chose to kick to NY. The kick was made and in less than 13 seconds the Jets ran that ball to their end zone… Way to start the game, guys. Jets dominated the ‘Skins until the 2nd half. Skins finally warmed up to the NY weather and felt the need to usher some pressure. Soon the game was 20 - 17 Skins. Jets ran the ball to their 3 yard line with 20 seconds left 4 and 3. They made a field goal tieing the game 20 - 20 with around 10 seconds left.

Overtime… Jets again went to their GOAL line with the ball and lost it on downs. Skins made several plays bringing the clock down to 9 minutes. They were at the 29 and made a winning field goal. What a game!!! It obviously was better being there than watching it on t.v..

Zach and I had a few good laughs at the Jets fan to our left and the Skins fan to our right. The dude on our right was always yelling (very very loud) “LETS GO REDSKINS, YEAAAAAAAAaaaaaaahhh” Must have done this 30 times throughout the game while his voice slowly became horse. It was funny. The Jets fan to our left was the most entertaining. He was screaming at the Jets for being such a horrible team. “HEY COACH… YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY ME TO COME TO YOUR GAMES FOR NOW ON…” I would not be surprised if the sideline guys heard him. He was bashing his own team… quite fun to listen to. Oh, and his voice carried. Zach and I walked around to get some food and were on one other corner of the stadium and we heard him loud and clear. Redskins V.S. Jets.

Went to the meadowlands (Giants Stadium, since they and the Jets share the stadium) to see them play the greatest football team of all time, the Redskins. I sat in section 112 row 35 seat 16. Almost right smack center close to the field. Here is a seating chart to be more specific... Seating chart

I just seriously have a problem with the democrats this year. No, I don't have a problem with any of you... Just those who are running for president. ESPECIALLY HILARY! Anything to raise taxes and punish the success of individuals. Her national health care plan is the greatest ruse I've ever seen from the left. It's rather disturbing that our nation would support a socialists government. Try to remember people, we're a constitutional republic. Not a democracy, and never a socialistic realm.

It's ok though... The senate left is really screwing up their own reputation.

So I just came up with a silly excuse.

Landon threw a toy and it landed on her laptop. The laptop shut off when the toy landed on it and apparently the hard drive won't work. Her friend Jeff is attempting to work on it.

So, yeah... anyone who reads this can update her LJ friends if they feel the need.

Today was just a check-up from the ER visit the other night. Everything came back good and they don't suggest the Flu shot for now... But, they had concerns with my blood work and want me to come back on Saturday for more blood work. This could be a life changing matter and I'll let you all know after I am fully informed with what they told me and the blood work yet to be done. Just keep me in your thoughts and prayer.

This evening I meet with Dr. Gary Short for counseling.

Strange, I've never heard of them.

The style of music these days is seemingly becoming less attractive to me. I'm sure it happens with everyone and that's probably why your parents dislike the music you listen to in most cases. I happened to come across a band I've never heard before and their music is the "feel good" stuff. The band has interesting insights on the music they write mostly with the words. The band... OneRepublic. You've probably heard of them but they're new to me. The lead singer has an incredible voice and it flows well with the band's sound. I came across them on myspace music. Apparently I enjoy their music.
In their words... "The song "Apologize" explores the personal pain of multiple relationships gone awry and the necessity of moving on, while “Stop and Stare” describes the common frustration of getting to a place in life where you think, "How in the world did I end up here, this isn't where I wanted to be, watching what I wanted pass me by." “The lyrics have shades of melancholy, and there is a definite emotional undercurrent running through them,” says the band. “If you can't tap into emotion, you're just selling catchy tunes.”"

Sometimes I wish this were me. (He's playing on a Guild D4-C, I own a Guild D4-12 which is the full body version of that guitar pictured and an additional 6 strings found here.)

I think I could have been like this had I pursued the talents of my younger years. Someone even told me a long time ago that with the way I played and sang I could be huge. What happened? Much of it had to do with my attitude and criticism of other musicians. I held myself back, it wasn't anything else... just me.

There are two artists in this family. Each can be the painter and the brush... all we need is a canvas.

Chiropractor visit

This morning I had an appointment with Dr. Frankie at the Bath Chiropractic offices. He worked on my neck and hips as they have been burning with pain for the last 10 days. He said that I was strangely stiff. Anyways when he got to my neck and started working on it he asked if I had been informed about facet syndrome. I had and told him what my past dr vists consisted of and the info they gave me. Dr Frankie didn't rule out facet syndrome but he did say that I have premature wear on the disks in my neck. Great....... He did say that I'm still young and I can remedy the problem with proper excersise and vitamin intake. And that I should start immediately.

Tomorrow marks the start of things. My best friend since 1991 will be wed to his bride to be this Saturday, tomorrow is the rehearsal dinner. Earlier this summer he approached me and asked of the honor to be his best man. I am certainly honored by this as he's been the greatest guy I've known. And to stand up there with him celebrating this event is by far one of the happiest things I can do for someone. So much has gone into the preparations of this wedding to be one of the noted unique ones out there. I'm proud of Zach and even more proud to be his best friend. He's gone from poverty to riches all on his own accord and has brought a new light into his family. Tora (his bride to be), is an astounding lady with just as great and impressive drive for life as anyone else on this blue earth. And rightfully they should be together. I hope that they can look back on this weekend as the day they loved each other the least. That, my friends, is something I've come to realize for myself over the years.

I will be taking as many pictures as possible with the help of other friends and family. Come Monday evening I will see to it that this event is published for all to see.
